The boat sank with three males on board off Eclipse Island close to Albany on February 1, sparking a serious marine rescue that gained nationwide headlines once they have been discovered floating within the Southern Ocean clinging to an esky.
The AFP informed the ABC the packages have been discovered on the capsized vessel when it was hauled to shore by a marine rescue group on Wednesday after it washed up in Peaceable Bay.
“The AFP can affirm it’s investigating the invention of suspicious packages discovered on a vessel in WA’s Nice Southern [region] yesterday,” a spokesperson stated.
The boys had been fishing when their vessel capsized in heavy seas and began to sink.
The upturned vessel was found by fishers about 90 kilometres west of the place it capsized.
The AFP spokesperson stated Australian Border Drive was additionally investigating.
Police urged anybody with details about the incident to name Crime Stoppers or the AFP.
