Corpus Christi ISD declares modifications to bilingual program

Corpus Christi ISD has introduced plans to centralize its bilingual training mannequin as the varsity district copes with a bilingual instructor scarcity.

The district’s staffing mannequin at the moment requires a bilingual licensed instructor for each grade stage at each elementary faculty within the district. However for years the district has not been capable of finding sufficient lecturers to fulfill this purpose.

The district’s emergent bilingual program serves Spanish-speaking college students who study of their native language parallel to the English language. College students who enter this system in kindergarten are assessed and may reclassify out of the bilingual program after two years as they choose up English expertise.
